Motorhome bookings
Northumberland is a destination like no other and remains one of the premier tourist locations in the country. In recognition of the increased popularity of staycations, the Council is running a pilot to allow visitors to pay to sleep in their motorhome overnight in three designated car parks. There are no services available within the car parks so any motorhome vehicle will need to be self-contained and have facilities such a toilet, sink and waste disposal fitted.
There are three sites included within this pilot where visitors can pay to sleep in the vehicle however there is no permission to have items of equipment (e.g. tables, chairs, awnings) outside of the vehicle. Stays will be limited to a single night so if you are looking for somewhere for longer then it is recommended that you go to the Visit Northumberland website to find a suitable location.
Overnight stays are however prohibited in all other Council car parks and vehicles found to be in contravention may be subject to a Penalty Charge Notice. Please be aware that should you park in any other Council car park for the purposes of an overnight stay to sleep, cook or camp within the car park, your vehicle will be subject to enforcement. Only the locations within this pilot allow for this type of activity to take place.
The three sites are as follows:
- Amble Braid Car Park, Amble
- Links Road Car Park, Bamburgh
- Beadnell Overflow Car Park, Beadnell
